The U.S. Department of Labor recently released a report on WIA programs titled Providing Public Workforce Services to Job Seekers: 30-month Impact Findings on the WIA Adult and Dislocated Worker Programs. The report analyzes the effectiveness of programs implemented under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 before WIOA was authorized in 2014.

All NAWB members are encouraged to read the report.Key findings, beginning on page 135, state that overall WIA programs were effective and a net benefit to society. The report also notes that training programs do require improvement.
