Join us for the continuation of The Forum 2023 LER Design Lab in this engaging webinar! We will delve deeper into the implementation of skills-based hiring and the adoption of electronic Learning and Employment Records (LERs) to support America's job seekers. As part of our future workforce training, we invite NAWB members to collaborate and explore the essential areas of focus for the next 1-3 years, fostering the widespread acceptance of LERs.

Key Learnings:

  1. Crafting Compelling Value Propositions: During the webinar, participants will discover effective techniques to engage key stakeholders in shaping compelling value propositions for LERs. They will gain insights into articulating the significance and benefits of LERs, tailored to different stakeholder groups.

Boosting Employer Demand: Attendees will explore strategies to strengthen employer demand and capacity for LERs. This includes seamlessly integrating LERs with HR and ATS systems, breaking free from traditional bachelor's degree requirements, and connecting learners/earners with well-suited opportunities. Additionally, pilot programs for upskilling and reskilling employees will be explored to demonstrate the effectiveness of LERs in building a skilled talent pool.

Measuring Impact through Data: The webinar will delve into the process of measuring the impact of LERs by gathering empirical data. Participants will gain insights into how LERs can enhance access to quality jobs and learning opportunities for learners and earners, contributing to lifelong learning. Moreover, LERs will be showcased as a catalyst for increasing access to diverse talent for employers, ultimately breaking down barriers to education and employment.

Shifting to a Skills-based System: Participants will confer the role of local and state Workforce Development Boards in supporting the transformation to a skills-based system. This involves providing skills language education to all stakeholders, embracing hidden and visible skills, and enabling effective skills-based matching for open roles.
